Back At Railhead

Well, hello there! Hope your enjoying your summer. It's not too bad, down here in Texas. We had a little hot streak last week, but this summer as a whole has not been pretty mild. That's good news for us, as it seems like all of our shows, as of late, have been outdoors. Usually, we are in the dog days, this time of year. No clouds and 100 degree temperatures for days on end. We've been lucky. At our last show, it didn't even hit 90 degrees.

This week we will be semi outdoors again, as we return to the Railhead Smokehouse in Willow Park. The area where the bands play, is semi-covered, and they have plenty of ceiling fans to circulate the air. The weather is supposed to be great. I've seen various forecasts that list the high temperature anywhere from the high 80's to low 90's, depending on where you look. It should also cool down pretty quickly, once the sun goes down. I'll take that anytime it's offered in August!

We are very excited about this show, as we will be introducing two new band members. Josh Drewes will be joining us on bass guitar, and Ken Woods will be joining us on the drums. Both guys have been putting in the overtime, learning all of the tunes. We've actually all been putting in a lot of time, both individually as well as together. My Xbox sure misses me, lol, but thankfully my daughters have been keeping it company. Oh well, duty calls, right? Or is that Call of Duty? We've had several long rehearsals, over the last few weeks. We will be having one more tomorrow night. Ken and Josh are both doing a great job, and I'm looking forward to taking the stage with them.

We have an all new show planned. We have several new songs, including two new originals. We are also bringing a couple back, that we haven't played in quite awhile. Downbeat is at 7:30pm, but I would get there early to ensure you get a seat as the patio area fills up quickly. Or, you can call Railhead at 817-441-2552 and reserve your table today. But hurry though, reservation go very quickly, and I ain't joking! We hope to see you out there. It's always a good time at Railhead.

Before I go, I do have a couple of big show announcements that I would like to make. On Saturday, September 13th, we will be playing out at Grapefest in Grapevine. We will be on the main stage, and are scheduled to perform from 2-3:30pm. I have never had a chance to attend this festival, but Roy has, and he said it is a blast. So mark your calendars, and make plans to attend.

Also, on Saturday, November 1st, we will be the featured artist on Music Scene Live. This is a radio show that is broadcasted live at The Thirsty Armadillo, which is located in the heart of the historic Fort Worth Stockyards. The broadcast will run from 1:30-2:45pm, and is open to the public. The full band will be there. We will be playing a set, and then participating in an interview with the host, Allison Balson. To find out more about this, be sure and visit their website at www.musicscenelive.com A big thanks goes out to Marti Ludwig, for finding this opportunity and presenting us for it. We will have more details on these two shows as the dates draw nearer.

Ok gang, that's about all the time we have for now. Thanks for reading the blog, and I'll talk to ya soon!
